Pallavaram Municipality’s efforts to embrace door-to-door collection of garbage has proved largely futile, as the civic body did not sensitise citizens and conservancy workers. The result: streets are filled with uncleared garbage.
Some remain defunct for months on end. Others follow no logic in terms of when they come on and when they are switched off. These photos show us why streetlights continue to be one of the biggest peeves among citizens.
