Oorvani Foundation generates content for publishing using teams of staff journalists, freelancers, subject matter experts, practitioners, filmmakers, audio producers and editors, and organisational partners. The reports and analysis are published in the Citizen Matters and India Together newsmagazines, and other publications.

Like our sister publication in Bangalore, Citizen Matters Chennai is a Chennai focused online citizen-oriented news magazine, covering city public affairs, community and culture. We publish pioneering journalism and are a platform for citizen engagement.

We are looking for journalists who have 5-7 years of work experience, especially in covering urban and citizen related issues. Such a person will be expected to identify, research, investigate and report on current issues facing Chennai and its residents. If you would like to apply for the position, please write to us at hr@oorvani.in.

We welcome freelance authors and journalists to pitch their stories on the city to us. These stories could be brief reports, detailed analysis or picture features. Please send us a sample of your writing at hr@oorvani.in

We would also invite all citizens to share their own stories about Chennai. These could be personal experiences/anecdotes/observations on any issue relevant to the city, or write-ups on specific initiatives/ideas that any resident will find useful or enjoyable. Please share with us at hr@oorvani.in

NOTE: Do read our Citizen Matters Article Guidelines before writing.
